My first cake, rainbow cake.

Dari jaman baheula pas gw tau ternyata kalo gw menurunkan kepintaran nyokap dalam hal baking dan masak memasak, tapiiii gw ga diturunkan ilmu buat naklukin si berbagai macam cake*sigh*.
Sampe rasanya desperate banget dan udah sampe taraf menyerah. Ada aturan buat brownies aja gagal secara namanya brownies itu kue bantet, dan gw ga bisa naklukin dong.

Pernah coba juga bikin tiramisu instan, eh itu ga jd cake malah jdnya kaya puding karna hancur*ah hancur hancur hancur hatiku*. Ada lagi pas kakang ulang tahun yg kedua sok2an bikin cake sendiri, hasilnya sih bagus cm ga edible alias ga bs dimakan saking kerasnya kaya batu boook, kynya kl gw coba lempar ke anjing aja pasti kaing kaing deh tuh anjing.

Sampe suatu saat bbman sama @VBkhay yang emang masternya perbakingan, buat km yg disemarang butuh cake enak hubungin aja feby, curhatlah gw kl kepengen bgt punya keahlian lain bikin cake, minimal hias buttercream deh, ga usah fondant yg belibet susahnya pun ga enak dimakan menurut gw yaa. Dia bilang modalnya asal lo bisa bikin cake dasar feelingnya dapet udah deh semua cake pasti lo bisa*peluk bumil* dan kalo lo berhasil bikin cake gw yakin lo bakalan lebih sering nolak orderan cookies hias,hahahaha.

Dan hari minggu sore nekatlah gw buat nyobain bikin cake, pilihan jatuh ke si rainbow cake yg lg happening banget sekarang.
Sebenernya sih udah niat bgt dari beberapa bulan yg lalu untuk bikin si RC ini,cuman blm punya keberanian aja,niatnya udah beli loyang kecil ukuran 15cm. Yaa kl2 gagal lagi ga enek2 bgt lah bahan yg terbuang ga banyak*wink*.
Resep yg gw pake gw ambil dari web nya martha steward.
Berikut resepnya yaa.

Ingredients

Vegetable shortening (gw skip)
3 cups all-purpose flour(-/+ 380gr)
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter, room temperature (-/+ 225gr)
2 1/3 cups sugar(gw hanya pake 1 1/2 cups aja) (-/+ 400 gr gw cm pake 250gr)
5 large egg whites, room temperature
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract(gw pake yg vanilla cream, wanginya lebih nendang)
1 1/2 cups milk, room temperature(gw pake 2 cups) (-/+325ml)
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple gel food coloring

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Brush six 9-inch-round cake pans (or as many 9-inch cake pans as you have, reusing them as necessary) with shortening.
Line bottom of each cake pan with parchment paper; brush again and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together butter and sugar.
Slowly add egg whites and mix until well combined.
Add vanilla and mix until fully incorporated. Add flour mixture and milk in two alternating additions, beginning with the flour and ending with the milk. Mix until well combined.Divide batter evenly between six medium bowls.
Add enough of each color of food coloring to each bowl, whisking, until desired shade is reached.
Transfer each color to an individual cake pan. Transfer to oven and bake until a cake tester inserted into the center of each cake comes out clean, about 15 minutes (working in batches if necessary).
Remove cakes from oven and transfer to a wire rack; let cool for 10 minutes.
Invert cakes onto a wire rack; re-invert and let cool completely.Using a serrated knife, trim tops of cakes to make level.
Place four strips of parchment paper around perimeter of a serving plate or lazy Susan. Place the purple layer on the cake plate.
Spread a scant 1 cup buttercream filling over the first layer with a small offset spatula so it extends just beyond edges. Repeat process with blue, green, yellow, and orange layers.Place the remaining red layer on top, bottom-side up. Gently sweep away any loose crumbs with a pastry brush. Using an offset spatula, cover the top and sides with a thin layer of frosting (also use any of the excess frosting visible between the layers). Refrigerate until set, about 30 minutes.Using an offset spatula, cover cake again with remaining frosting.

Untuk frosting gw pake
300gr butter unsalted
100 gr icing sugar
2sdm susu cair
1/4sdt vanilla
1sdm bubuk greentea

Buat gw krimnya kemanisan, kynya lebih mantep pake frosting krimcis, cm berhubung ga ada dirumah jdlah itu mengarang bebas si bahan frostingnya.
Tapiiiii setelah gw bagiib ke orang2 ada yg 1 lidah sama gw bilangnya kemanisan kebanyakan bilang enaaaaak. Aaaah pembuat cake amatiran ini idungnya terbang, seneng bukan main booook.
